i dislike pigeons. i've always thought of them as rats with wings. regardless, i decided to photograph this one, because it looked so menacing. even more so, now that i've gotten a closer look at it.

this shot was taken from about three feet away, and i didn't notice until i viewed the picture at home that the pigeon had bits of blue string tangled around its feet. that is a bagel that the bird is skulking around. again; i wish it weren't in the shot. i also wish that it had come out a bit clearer.

Whats wrong with the bagel in the picture? I kinda think it suits being there. Makes the pigeon looks like it atleast has a purpose for its existance.
Eating bagels so it can then go a poop on people's heads.

The lighting is really great in this shot. Did you use any fill flash?

nope...no fill flash! i'm not actually sure how the lighting came out the way it did; it was actually pretty sunny that day! guess it was a fluke, but a lucky one!

lol! i just dislike 'em because around my neck of the woods, they tend to fly right up in your face in true brooklyn fashion sometimes...i should change the name of the deviation to "hoodlum"...

oh we have our share of pidgeons too but they have to compete with the gulls and canadian geese.....kalamazoo is like a freakin' aviary! hahahahaha
