I didn't think I would, but I did!

NYAF came and went, and it was so, so much fun; even more so than last year! Prepping for it was a pain in the ass. But instead of scrambling at the last minute and scraping everything together on the day before the con, I managed to get everything done two days before the con. I think that's a personal record. There were a couple of prints I wanted to get done, but didn't have time - next year!

Anyway, I love the people at that con. Had great table neighbors, got to see some good buddies again. Even ran into an old friend from high school, Andrea, who also had a table! Saw a bunch of people from Otakon and last year's NYAF. And my friend Eric brought me a Betta fish for good luck! His name is Finland! Saw SomethingForEveryone again, yaaay! KirakoRora was the most adorable Korea ever, Kid-Keehl was an awesome, awesome Bel, Julie was the cutest Japan. <3 Everyone who stopped by, thank you! I'd list more, but I haven't been able to go through my bucket o' business cards yet, so forgive me even though I suck. I miss cons already; I can say this now that I've caught up on sleep. I hope I can get tables next year, and make it to some new cons as well!

Something cool:

I have a new site: ThreeGhosts.net

I bought the threeghosts.net domain sometime back in February, and it's just been gathering dust until now.

I've had a portfolio site for a while over at midnight-radio.net. It's pretty much just my finished art and a bit of information, and I really want to keep it that way. However, other than dumping new art up there every so often, there's not much I can do with it. Not much room for fun there.

So I kind of wanted a slightly more personal site, with more freedom to mess around and be stupid and yap about stuff. And a place to post the sketchier, less finished work that I don't want to get mixed in with my portfolios. I'll also have my finished work there, so it's somewhat of a standalone portfolio as well.

I've got some new stuff up on there now (which is mostly just some older stuff no one's seen, plus a few new things). Go check it out! I'll be hanging out there a lot, and probably posting there a lot more often than I do here. :D

Go check it out! ---> ThreeGhosts.net

Holy crap! ryuuha, thanks so much for suggesting my train piece as a DD, and Thiefoworld, thanks for the feature! What an awesome thing to log on and see; so cool of you, seriously. And thanks, everyone, for the feedback - I really appreciate and love reading your comments, and it makes me happy that a lot of others feel the same way about train rides. Many of the New Yorkers I encounter there seem bitter about it (although during rush hour in the summer, it's understandable). Thanks, guys. <3

Also! It would be awesome if you could help me on this:

I work at my computer for the majority of the day, and am always listening to something so I don't go insane from staring at the screen in silence. I've got about 30gb of music on my drive, and unfortunately it's not really doing much for me anymore, since I'm getting tired of listening to the same stuff all the time (I've also taken to listening to movies and TV series and stuff while I work).

So basically, what are you all listening to or watching now that you love? Or have loved? Or just feel like recommending? Doesn't matter what genre of music or type of show/movie - if you think it's good, I would like to hear of it, plz. I just need new entertainment. Halp!

I really suck at updating my dA, guys. :( It's been a bit of a crazy year so far. I hope you'll forgive my crappiness at responding to notes and comments; I feel terrible! Please feel free to send strongly-worded letters and sound beatings - they are much deserved.

We're back from Otakon! Lack of sleep aside, it was definitely good times - so many awesome people and so much amazing art in the alley. I was pretty much stuck to the table all weekend, and that was more than enough fun for me. I really hope I'm lucky enough to get a table next year. I was sad to leave.

And now for several paragraphs of "thank you"s and "awesome"s.

izolas, I'm so glad we got to hang out again, chibi. <3 Thanks for keeping us company and being your awesome self. Also got to hang out with BaylaVin again for the first time in a few years - thank you so much for coming by and letting us bug you about all the travel tips! We all talked about how awesome you are all the way back to the hotel. <3 DragonTamerGemini, it was so great to see you again - I'm sorry I didn't get to say goodbye before the con was over, but I hope you'll be at NYAF. We will talk soon, and hopefully get together for some fish shopping!

look, it was so great to have you as a neighbor! Thanks for your beautiful prints - I hope we didn't bug you too much! Got to see jieyi again - yaaaay! <3 Your prints are gorgeous - I love them! Can't wait to see you guys again at NYAF! And I got to meet kitten-chan, who made an awesome bundle of 8059 goodness with her friend and was so cool! (ILU <3) And thanks so much to everyone who stopped by the table and stayed to chat and geek out about stuff. You are all way too cool.

And mostly, burntheskies, goddessme and bluefaces, thank you guys so much for helping me with the table, for keeping me fed and sane all weekend and for the good times in the hotel. I think I have the best friends evar. Please to accept my love and gratitude with the intensity of a thousand burning suns. <3

Before I forget, I'll be at New York Anime Festival Sept 25-27 at table AA25 all weekend. Come and say hellehrye!

Hello, hello! How's everyone been?

Things have been pretty good over here; I'm digging the cool weather like you wouldn't believe.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by my table to say hey at New York Anime Fest! I really missed being in an artists' alley; I haven't had a table in a while! The con was great, but pretty tiring. Got to meet a lot of awesome folks, and our table neighbors were so much fun to hang around with! <3 I'm gonna try to make it out to more cons next year fo' sho.

Happy belated Halloween, too! How did you guys celebrate?

A couple of buddies and I went out to Philadelphia to the Eastern State Penitentiary. It's an amazing, creepy old inactive prison that they turn into a huge haunted house every year. It's called "Terror Behind the Walls".

And it's not some cheesy haunted house where they have fake mannequins that pop out while tape-recorded screams play in the background. They have a bunch of people dressed up as undead inmates and prison guards planted all throughout the place. And they act their parts...really well. XD

We went for a tour of the place before TBTW started, and I managed to sneak a picture of their setup through a hole in a gate:

Muahahahah. And it's even creepier at night, 'cause there's very little light. There was one area where they give you little flashlights and you have to make it through a pitch-black dark cellblock with zombie people lurking in it. The zombies follow you sometimes. ;.;

I took some video of the whole thing, and it's so dark you can't see anything, but you can pretty much hear all of us screaming for 40 straight minutes. XD It was horrendously cold that day (it actually snowed in New Jersey and PA on the way there), but it was still a lot of fun. Nothing warms you up like pissing yourself every five seconds.

So if you're looking for something to do next Halloween and you can get to Philadelphia, you should! (Get tickets earlier than later.) Or if you just want to go check out a beautiful old prison, it's open all year round.

I've got some pictures of the place (in the daytime) on my Flickr. :D

...well, you should be! They are one of the best things on the internet right now; I want to move in with those guys. And if you like it, make sure to pimp the show out to your friends...if we all spread the love enough, maybe they'll be able to do another season! There's only two episodes left to go and I'm really gonna miss the hilarity.

Personal favorite moments:

- Episode five, the scene when their neighbor asks them to keep the noise down while his parents are visiting. (And also when they're in the video store.)

- Every time poor Mikey has one of his little tantrums.

Also, what do you all make of the 1-18-08 trailer that's got everyone so worked up? Some interesting theories floating around...what do you think the monster will be?
Oh man, it's good to be back home. And wow, I forgot DA was launching its new version. The colors look pretty spiff, huh? I don't know where the hell everything is right now, but I'm really tired and I need to sleep really badly, so I'll worry about that later.

I'm back from Otakon and Florida! Otakon was great again...I shared tables with NovemberWolf and InspectorZenigata; it's always awesome to get to hang out with VJ and I'm really glad I got to meet you, Coey. (And I'm sorry for killing all the kittens, pandas, giraffes and other innocent animals.) I hope your extra time in Baltimore was fun!

I got to see the lovely loriofpandora again, which made me happy happy! And Ruth (BaylaVin) in her uber-hawt Kakashi and Ed gear! Thank you and Akamar so much for your gifts; I will treasure them (and we ate the Pocky with the complimentary french vanilla decaf we got at the hotel and it was slammin').

I was really happy to see Raephire too; I can't wait to start drawing your characters and I hope you had a good trip home! And izolas, I'm glad I finally got to meet you too. Thanks for hanging out and geeking with us about games and movies and bad dubbing! XD :glomp:

It makes me sad that I only get to see you guys once a year. *sigh*

It was really fun getting to chat with everyone who stopped by the table. If you sent me an e-mail, I'm really sorry for not having been able to reply this past week. I've been without intardnets and just got to read them today, so I will be replying to them forthwith!
So who's gonna be at Otakon '06? I'll be there next to NovemberWolf in K section, I believe! So if you're in Artist's Alley, make sure you stop by and say hello, or I'll be grumpy and sad. I'll have prints and other goodies, including Malaise de L'Orange and some pieces I haven't posted here yet.

Thank you, by the way, for the comments left on the recent things I've posted here...particularly the critiques. That's why I love this community so much, cause you all see things that need fixing or improvement in my work that I don't catch. I really feel like I need to improve on a lot of things, and your constructive crits help more than you know. So even though I may not have had time to respond to everything, thank you. I'm trying to apply your advice/suggestions to the things I'm working on at the moment.

I really miss my games. ;.; I haven't touched my PS2 in a really long time, and I have about 4 unfinished games staring me in the face while I work. Plus the new Onimusha that my friend lent me yesterday sitting in my bag. I WON'T TOUCH IT.

Okay, maybe I'll just caress the box a little.

Ahhh.

I guess this ends my unintentional four-month hiatus from art. I'm back; been pretty busy with school and other things lately, but I'm back for the most part. (On spring break now). I'm also recovering from bronchitis; I've been pretty much sick all winter and it kind of put me out of commission for a while.

Still truckin' through that scary inbox of mine. I have a lot of stuff in there that I probably won't be able to respond to, but I really appreciate the comments and feedback left in my absence. I hate not being able to respond to things, but I'm trying to respond to those of you who had questions. :)

I've created a poll; might as well get some use out of that feature, huh? If you guys could just let me know what your screen resolution is, it would be much appreciated. I have a couple of web projects to do and I'm curious as to what the most common size is. Thank you!!

I return, kinda!

Had to do a bunch of stupid school projects for the end of the semester. I also studied my ass off for final exams, only to have them cancelled (delayed until later) because of the New York transit strike. So they're still hovering over my head. Kind of thankful for the extra studying time, though.

I always do some kind of artwork as gifts for my extended family for Christmas, so I've been laboring over that. Got that done, but had to wander around the streets looking for an affordable local place to print out things for hours. There were no buses and trains 'cause of the transit strike again, so I couldn't get to a Kinko's.

So those things have pretty much eaten up my winter, which is why I've been pretty much nonexistent here. I'll be catching up on my inbox soon; I'm really sorry I haven't been able to keep up with comments and everyone's art lately! I'll be doing that really soon.

As for art, I haven't really had time to do any of that lately. I've got a WIP for Christmas on the burner, but I doubt I'll be finishing it in time for the holiday.

*Notices that it's midnight, and therefore officially Christmas in NY.*

Merry Christmas, folks! Eat lots of good stuff, and have a kickass time! I know I will, now that most of the crap I have to do is over.

As good as pr0n, in my opinion.

Thu Nov 3, 2005, 11:42 PM

Oh my effin' god.

Not Pr0n.

If you want your brain to melt out of your ears in the most pleasurable way, I urge you to click on that. It's a game of riddles, the "Hardest Riddle on the Internet", even. It's been around for a long time now...who here has played this? I've only found out about it yesterday, and spent tonight flailing over it with Imoutosan and Bocchan.

The object of the game is simply to advance to the next level. To do so, you need to take the clues given in each level and figure out how to get there. Some levels require that you enter a username/password, and others may make you alter the URL, after finding out exactly what needs to be changed.

It's not easy, and it's not quick, so don't expect to get through it in like a day, unless you've been blessed with super mental prowess. Finding the answers to the riddles can require you to do research on the web, crack codes and even mess around with media files. It can get really frustrating, but it makes it all worth it.

The game recommends that you do not cheat. I admit that I cheated through one level, but damn, it was an evil one. Even when I found the answer, I thought, "All right, I would have never thought of that in a million years and I don't have that kind of time to devote to this, so I don't feel too bad." It really is more satisfying to get through the game on your own, though. And I are dumb.

So have a kickass time with this, if it's your cup of tea. I am currently in the middle of hashing out Level 16, so if anyone needs help with any of the previous levels, feel free to comment or note me. I won't give you the answers, but I'll throw some hints your way if you want. Of course, the site itself has a forum where you can also get hints. Fun fun!

Otakon 2005 // Seven Things

Sun Aug 28, 2005, 6:11 PM

This is a really late post, but I've been busy over the past few days.

Otakon was awesome this year. Man oh man. It was great getting to meet loriofpandora, Raephire, derk-kun and of course, getting to hang out with NovemberWolf again. ^^ The vacation also gave me time to catch up with my old friends, who I hadn't seen much throughout the term, since we'd all been busy doing our own thangs.

The AEF table was fun as hell; a lot of people really liked the idea of the story and we got to meet a bunch of friendly congoers through there. Dealer's room was good; didn't get to check out any panels or anime screenings, though. And we had a decent room this time around, so we didn't have to sleep on the floor this year. :w00t: Good times. Definitely going back next year.

The Poconos was also good, although we didn't seem to be interested in much kayaking this time. We went on one eight-mile kayaking trip and that pretty much killed us. Went Go-Karting and ate way too much. Pretty relaxing. ^^

Spreading the Love

Sun Aug 7, 2005, 1:27 PM

Happy 5th Birthday to deviantART!

I just wanted to say that although I've only been here for a year and change, this community has become a huge part of my life. I have been interested in art since I was able to grip a crayon, but since I've left art school, I haven't been able to find such a community of like-minded people who are as passionate about the craft as all of you are. There was a three-year gap where I barely drew anything at all, and it wasn't until I joined DA that I realized how much I missed it.

So thank you, all of you, for making my experience here as amazing as it has been, and as amazing as it will hopefully continue to be. To all of the friends I've met, to all of the people who have supported me, inspired me and taught me: thank you. I am more grateful to you than I can express.

Let's spread the love today, people: Bring back the Community.

Other people have explained this better than I have. In any case, I support Jark and am disturbed by all of this.

Well, here I be, still alive. I'm so sorry for not being able to respond to comments and stuff lately, but I've had a lot to take care of. ^^; Anyway, I'll be getting back into the swing of things here on DA again, so if you get a response to a comment you left me like, a month and a half ago, do not be alarmed.

If you've seen NovemberWolf's latest journal, you already know that the book printing and preorders are going to be delayed for a bit. We're still trucking along on getting everything done, and it's going to be quality stuff. I still have to compile some pages, but I finished all of the main illustrations and front cover a week ago. There's just a bit more to be done. ^^ I really liked seeing the guest art that everyone did.

Only a bit longer till Otakon! Woo! :excited:

Don't forget to let me know if you hit the 10,000 kiriban! I'd hate to let this one slip by!

I hate summer. With all my heart. Too much heat makes me logy and slow to the point where I can't think and start speaking nonsensically. It's been like 90 degrees these past few days, and I've been taking many showers per day. They do noooothing! *clings to air conditioner for dear life*

I know I haven't been too active here lately...been working on Alice Ever Falling a lot lately. I'm hoping to catch up on comments and deviations soon! Miss talking to you folks!
